Local Pantry Seeking Community Support to Provide Thanksgiving Meals

Menomonie, Wisconsin –

Stepping Stones of Dunn County is asking the community to Step Up and donate Thanksgiving side dish items to distribute to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity this upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

“Community members are encouraged to pick up one or two extra of each side dish ingredient they get for their own holiday preparations. Helping your neighbors is a great way to give thanks this holiday!” says David Stanley, Assistant Director of Stepping Stones.
We are also asking local businesses for monetary donations so that we can purchase whole turkeys at a discount through our partners, to get the most bang for each buck. If your workplace does any charitable giving, please have them get in contact with us.”

Stepping Stones is asking for items such as:
Instant mashed potatoes, stuffing, canned sweet potatoes, canned green beans, cream of mushroom soup, cranberry sauce, fried onions, canned carrots, canned corns, pie crusts, pie fillings, and mac n cheese. Whole turkey donations are still greatly appreciated.

Stepping Stones serves upwards of 11% of the population in Dunn County through their food pantry program each year, well over 800 of those served being children. Stepping Stones is hoping to provide 600 households with a hot Thanksgiving meal this year and bring some warmth and full stomachs to those in need in our community.
Donations can be brought or sent to the Stepping Stones of Dunn County main building at 1602 Stout Rd in Menomonie. Online monetary donations can be submitted online at steppingstonesdc.org via the “How You Can Help” page.
