Dunn County schedules annual Clean Sweep waste collection event for Sept. 24
 
MENOMONIE, Wis. -- Dunn County will hold its annual Clean Sweep hazardous waste collection on Thursday, Sept. 24, to give residents a safe way to dispose of unwanted household chemicals.
 
The event is from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Small Animal Building at the Dunn County Fairgrounds, 620 17th St. E in Menomonie. A $10 per‑vehicle fee will be charged, payable by cash or check.
 
Accepted items include automotive fluids, small batteries, fluorescent and LED bulbs, concrete and pool cleaners, aerosol cans, oil and lead‑based paints, solvents and pesticides.
 
Not accepted items include latex paint, appliances, electronics, propane tanks, medical waste, medications, sharps, tires, used oil and smoke detectors.
 
Residents are encouraged to review the list of acceptable materials before arriving to help ensure smooth traffic flow.
