Resident Advisor

As a Resident Advisor, you will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive and health-focused community, where thoughtful decision-making and a commitment to well-being create a safe, nurturing environment for all residents. Your interactions will help shape and maintain a culture of growth, respect, and mutual support. We are currently interviewing Resident Advisors for a faith-based organization located in Eau Claire.
 
POSITION – Resident Advisor
JOB LOCATION – Eau Claire, WI
STARTING DATE – Immediately
EMPLOYMENT TERM – Direct Hire
EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time
WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – Evening Shift (4pm-12am, Mon-Fri, plus OT rotating weekends 12pm-12am)
STARTING PAY – $18.50/hour plus $2/hour shift differential on nights and $2/hour shift differential on weekends
REQUIRED EDUCATION – High School Diploma/GED preferred, valid driver's license and clean driving record required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – Previous leadership experience required. Job is located in the male housing area so the RA should also be male.
 
 
Your primary purpose as a Resident Advisor is to maintain a safe home environment for our residents, consistent with our culture and code of conduct, while providing support and hospitality to our residents. We work to foster an environment that promotes well-being and personal growth. Our focus is on creating a supportive, health-oriented community where decisions are made thoughtfully and strategically to achieve our goals. While residents are not required to share specific beliefs, we aim to cultivate an atmosphere where they can experience personal and emotional enrichment. We emphasize the importance of building and maintaining healthy relationships, and we use boundaries to safeguard against unhealthy interactions. Our environment is designed to be trauma-informed and safe, providing residents with the support they need to heal and grow together. We expect all program staff to be enthusiastic and committed to contributing to this environment. In your role, you are essential in shaping and sustaining this culture through your interactions with others.
 
 
DUTIES:
Align with the mission statement and demonstrate commitment to its goals.
Exhibit a mature and professional demeanor.
Possess prior leadership experience.
Utilize strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
Navigate crises calmly and professionally.
Be proficient with computer use.
Hold a current driver's license with a clean driving record.
Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
 
  
QUALIFICATIONS:
Create and sustain an intentional, health-focused community that promotes well-being and personal growth.
Enforce house rules in a supportive, non-punitive manner, intervening quickly to maintain a positive environment.
Maintain a calm and peaceful atmosphere within the house.
Support residents' needs by ensuring meals are served as planned, medications are available, schedules are followed, policies are adhered to, and any additional needs are met, including meal preparation.
Ensure the security of the house through controlled entry, property searches, breathalyzer assessments, and drug screenings.
Conduct resident check-ins in a welcoming manner to make each resident feel valued.
Maintain detailed documentation and communication to ensure a smooth experience for residents across different areas of their program.
Address any issues promptly while upholding a calm and professional demeanor.
Assist with the resident checkout process, ensuring they feel cared for and know they are welcome to return in the future.
Complete various house chores as assigned.
Be able to work in the male housing area.
