Having leaves on a tree certainly helps in identification, but what do you do when there are no leaves? Winter offers a special time to appreciate trees in a totally different way. This program will point out the unique bud and bark characteristics of some of our native trees that make identification possible - even in the winter! Participants will take a short hike around the Reserve to look at the unique characteristics of winter trees and learn some easy ways to remember how to identify them. A simple winter twig and bark key will be provided for participants to take home! Be sure to dress appropriately for the outdoors.
