Take Back The Night (TBTN) is an event hosted by UW-Stout's CVPP program (Campus Violence Protection Project) in order to create awearness to the students as well as communtity for sexual assualt. Take Back the Night began back in 1877 when women protested the fear and violence they experienced at night in the streets of London, England. Throughout decades, thousands of marches and rallies bearing the name Take Back the Night has taken place worldwide. It has inspired both women and men to confront a countless number of fears including rape, sexual violence, domestic violence, violence against children, and violence against women.
