Singer and songwriter Mat Kearney will perform with guest Shevy Smith Kearney, born in Eugene, Ore., moved to Nashville, Tenn. the summer after his junior year of college. He only intended to spend the summer to record a few songs, but after receiving strong interest from several record labels decided to stay. "Bullet" his first album, was released in 2004. The album seamlessly combines elements of hip-hop, pop and folk. Later, Kearney signed with Columbia Records and released his major-label debut, "Nothing Left to Lose". Since its release in April 2006, the album has sold more than 160,000 copies in the United States. Kearney recently opened for John Mayer on a month-long U.S. tour and has been featured on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. His single, "All I Need" was featured on the television program, "Grey's Anatomy". He is currently wrapping up a headlining spot on VH1’s "You Oughta Know" tour.
