The patriotic concert is an annual event. But this year the band will feature the Menomonie Singers, under the direction of Nathan Jacobson, singing patriotic songs with Ludington back up. In addition the band will perform the 1812 Overture using three live cannon and some fireworks in the finale. Local churches in the Wilson Park area will also ring their bells as part of the finale. The cannon company will do a short "show and tell" before the concert and you won't want to miss that. The grand finale of the night is Sousa's Stars and Stripes. The audience will be given sparklers before this to be lighted at the right time on cue from the band and director. Intermission entertainment will be provided by the band's own Dixieland group, the White Pine Ramblers, and the pie social will be given by The Boy Scouts of the Menomonie area. It will be an incredible, special and unique night, not to be missed.
