Listening to a Ludington Guard Band concert in Wilson Park is a wonderful way to spend a warm summer Tuesday evening. The free summertime concerts by the Ludington Guard Band have been an unbroken Menomonie tradition for 119 years. Every week, about 45 band members, led by James Woodford, band director at Colfax High School, perform a lively mix of pop songs, Broadway and movie music, big band numbers and band music. During every performance, a non-profit organization sponsors a homemade pie and ice cream social to raise money for its activities. Popcorn & Cotton candy are also available.
