What happens when a singer and a poet collaborate? The words and sound of spirit soar! Over the last 30 years Stephanie Ann Stephens and John Graber have attended each other's concerts & readings and not until 2008 did they think to combine their talents to create a program that emerges and reveals the stirrings of each of their souls. In it's simplicity, the program is organized around the richness of a relationship of shared faith. Stephanie has lent her voice and enthusiasm, to a broad range of music from opera to country western. She has traveled to and sung in every state of the "lower 48." This evening she will wrap her warm voice around the inspiration and strength of spirituals and weave them through the readings of John Graber's poetry, which in it's depth, has always been language affirming life even in times of darkness. An Iowa Workshop grad, John is a nationally published poet. Poetry in his latest book, Thanksgiving Dawn, was recently nominated for the Pushcart Prize 2009.
