Presented by Mr. Bill Ormichen. In 2005, Wisconsin expanded legislation, authored by Senator Sheila Harsdorf, which enabled the creation of health care cooperatives. Health care cooperatives can enable small groups and individuals to band together for better health care benefits at better prices. Mr. Oemichen oversaw the creation of a statewide health cooperative for farmers and agribusiness, launched last year. Several regional business cooperatives are now operating in parts of Wisconsin. Health care cooperatives have gained national recognition for their innovation and success.
