Nancy Schafer, director, Tsev Laus Kaj Siab, licensed culturally-specific adult day care center for Hmong elders, will present a lectured titled "Elder care in the Hmong community" at the last of the fall 2007 Optimal Aging lecture series.
Ms. Schafer will discuss Hmong history, health and healing perspectives, specific health issues related to Hmong elders and the development if culturally-responsible health care.
The talk is free and will be held in the Education Center. A light lunch will be provided. Parking is available in the east parking lot.
The three-part Optimal Aging lecture series is a partnership between UW-Stout and Red Cedar Medical Center. The series designed to explore topics relating to the field of gerontology with faculty, students, practitioners and consumers.
