View the eclipse from our lawn. Bring your own chairs, blankets pillow...and a picnic. On August 21 the first total eclipse of the sun since 1979 will occur in the U.S. While we won’t see a total eclipse here in Menomonie, it will be 85% eclipsed and still exciting to watch. The moon starts its passage between the sun and us at 11:46 am and ends the journey at 2:31 pm. Peak eclipse will be at 1:09 pm. Join us at the library to view the eclipse. We will have a limited supply of NASA approved “eclipse glasses” available the day of the eclipse (limit one per-person until supply is gone) which allow you to look at the sun directly without damaging your eyes.* We will also be giving away free Moon Pies in recognition.
