Menomonie will be without the popular "Drums Along the Red Cedar" in 2008, due to a turf project at Don & Nona Williams Stadium. But through the Greater Menomonie Area Community Foundation, the event steering committee has begun raising funds to bring Drum Corps back to Menomonie in 2009. Step one is a FREE "Keep the Beat" concert Friday, June 27, 2008 in the band shell at Menomonie's Wilson Park from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. featuring two popular groups from the Twin Cities: Minne-Brass is a sizzling jazz group, featuring 20 members of the Twin Cities' world renowned Minnesota Brass drum and bugle corps. Classic Brass Inc. a brass quintet that takes music seriously and themselves with a grin. They have become one of the premier brass quintets in the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area.
