Take an amazing field trip to the Chippewa County Forest and explore the world of bogs! This one-day camp is geared for 10?12-year olds. Bogs are fascinating plant communities occupying a unique niche in our northern forests. They are home to interesting plants and animals found nowhere else! We?ll find tamarack trees, pitcher plants, sundews, and other bog-specific plants and discover how they survive in such a strange environment. If we have extra time, we?ll hike a short section of the Ice Age Trail winding through the hills, lakes and ferns of the beautiful Chippewa County Forest. What to bring: Campers should bring lunch with a drink and insect repellent and should come dressed for being outside. Morning and afternoon snack will be provided. Registration and full payment required by June 1.
