Compensation: Annual salary of $75,000 to $85,000, based on qualifications and experience. In addition, the Chamber provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, retirement plan, health, dental, and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and other benefits.
Location: On-site
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. This position includes required meetings and events outside of standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Position Overview:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the strategic and operational leader of the Menomonie Area Chamber & Visitor Center, responsible for advancing the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term impact.
Working in partnership with the Board of Directors, the CEO contributes to the development of the organization’s strategic direction and is responsible for executing the strategic plan through effective leadership, resource management, and staff oversight. The CEO ensures alignment between the Board’s vision and organizational operations, driving measurable outcomes across all programs, events, and initiatives of the Chamber.
The CEO serves as the primary representative of the organization and plays an active leadership role in the community through partnerships, committee involvement, and regional engagement.

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Governance
- Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and advance the organization’s strategic plan
- Drive execution of strategic priorities through measurable outcomes and staff accountability
- Provide regular communication, recommendations, and support to the Board Chair and Executive Committee
- Serve as staff liaison to the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Advocacy Committee, Chamber Past Presidents, and other committees as outlined in the organization’s bylaws
Organizational Leadership and Operations
- Lead and manage all staff, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and performance expectations
- Oversee human resource functions, including hiring, supervision, evaluation, and professional development
- Ensure organizational structure, operations, and internal processes to support execution of the strategic plan
- Maintain organizational policies and procedures in collaboration with legal counsel
Financial Management and Sustainability
- Develop and manage the annual budget in partnership with the Finance Committee
- Monitor financial performance and ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources
- Oversee financial reporting, audits, and compliance in coordination with the organization’s accountant
Programs, Membership, and Revenue
- Provide strategic oversight of all Chamber programs, events, and activities, including tourism as a core program
- Ensure programs align with strategic priorities and deliver value to members and the community
- Support membership growth, engagement, and retention in collaboration with staff
- Contribute to sponsorship development, contract negotiations, and revenue generation efforts
Community and Stakeholder Leadership
- Serve as the primary ambassador and spokesperson, leading public relations and communications
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, business leaders, and community partners
- Represent the organization as an appointed, voting member on specified community committees
- Maintain an active presence in the community, strengthening the Chamber’s visibility and influence
Advocacy and Issue Awareness
- Support the organization’s role in raising awareness of issues impacting the business community
- Facilitate informed dialogue and engagement consistent with the Chamber’s approach to advocacy

Qualifications
Minimum
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within a chamber, nonprofit, or similar organization
- Experience in human resources management, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and personnel policy administration
Preferred
- Experience in strategic planning, team leadership, and organizational management
- Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and audit processes
- Experience working with legal counsel on policy and procedure development
- Ability to navigate complex organizational and community situations
- Experience with contract negotiation and partnership management
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Familiarity with financial management systems; QuickBooks experience is a plus

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Local travel to meetings and events is required. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
