A day hike offers a great opportunity for families to bond and to instill children with an understanding and appreciation of nature. This session will provide and allow families to experience activities to get kids excited about a day hike; trail games that will help kids better understand and appreciate nature; and post-hike activities to keep kids excited about the sport. The games and activities are culled from the experiences of bestselling hiking guidebook author Rob Bignell, who with his nine-year-old son Kieran have been featured in National Geographic: Kids magazine and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. This program is appropriate for families with children ages 6 months to 13 years. Please dress for the weather and bring comfortable shoes for walking and a water bottle. Rob Bignell will be signing and selling books from his popular guidebook series after the hike. Registration and full payment required by May 17. Pricing is per family of 2-5 people. Larger families please register for two spots.
