There’s a buzz in the air! Literacy Chippewa Valley’s 16th Annual ScrabbleBee is Thursday, April 20, 2017. We will again be at The Lismore Hotel in downtown Eau Claire. This larger venue provides room for 50 teams. Get your friends, family members, or co-workers together and register now to spend a fun and exciting night playing Scrabble® and helping a good cause. Here’s how it works: “Hare” teams of up to six players work with each other – and against the clock – to build as many high-scoring words on the Scrabble™ board as possible. Three games are played throughout the evening, and the team with the highest total score for all three games is the winner. In addition to the fast-paced play, there is also a “Tortoise” division that plays traditional Scrabble™. Other activities include a silent auction, raffles, prizes, and food. Team check-in is at 5:15 p.m., and the competition starts at 6 p.m. Event sponsor for the 2017 ScrabbleBee is CCF Bank; major sponsors are BMO Harris Bank, Northwestern Bank, RCU, Team Tiry and Xcel Energy. CVTC, Larson Orthodontics, Marshfield Clinic, Mason Companies and Student Transit are game and tile sponsors; and media sponsors include WQOW TV 18, Volume One, and Wisconsin Public Radio. If you’re interested in signing up a team or sponsoring the event, contact us at 715-834-0222 or email@example.com.
