Red Cedar Medical Center Mayo Health System invites women to it’s signature annual event, Wake Up to Wellness, on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 from 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Great Hall in UW-Stout’s Memorial Student Union in Menomonie.
Area women are encouraged to come aboard the RCMC Voyager, where staff will issue passports to wellness. Women will discover their health profiles and attend seminars on mind body exploration. Ladies can gather their friends for a picture by the pool and enjoy a mini massage; then, settle in for entertainment, lunch, dancing and a roll of the dice for prizes.
From 7:45 to 9:45 a.m., women can take advantage of a variety of health screenings, a continental breakfast and breakout sessions. Keynote speaker, lunch and dancing runs from 10:15 to 12:30 p.m.
The seminar will feature the following:
"Funny Thing Happened on the Way to My Crisis," by national speaker, comedian and author Brenda Elsagher. As a colorectal cancer survivor, Brenda learned from personal experience that humor goes a long way when facing the adversity we all have in our lives. We know you’ll walk away feeling inspired and refreshed after this mega dose of laughter!
Latin Style Dance
All bodies on deck! Dance strengthens and tones the entire body, reduces stress and keeps the heart healthy. Following the keynote speaker, participants can move their hips to the Latin beat with Salsa, Meringue and Bachata or simply tap their toes from the table.
