Thrumming is a process by which unspun roving is knit into the mitten and hangs loosely inside the project. Upon wearing the mitten, it felts itself from the warmth and abrasion of your hand, making it very warm and water resistant. Participants should be comfortable using double point needles. Supplies Needed: Size 4 and 5 double point needles or size needed to obtain gauge of 5 stiches per inch, at least 160 yards of worsted yar, place marker, scrap yar, scissors, tape measure, yarn needle. Roving will be provided by the instructor. Instructor: Ellen Nelson
