A LATINA POET'S HYBRID POETICS Former Milwaukee Poet Laureate Brenda Cárdenas will discuss the significance of her background--in particular hybrid and liminal experiences and spaces--in her work as a Midwestern Latina poet, including how she addresses such notions through interlingual and inter-arts approaches. She will intersperse readings of her own poems as examples into her talk.
