Ca$h Course - WESTconsin CU

WESTconsin Credit Union is partnering with Menomonie High School to give students a taste of the real world with the Ca$h Course financial education simulation! To make this event a success, we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring the experience to life!

What is Ca$h Course?

Ca$h Course is a real-world simulation sponsored by WESTconsin Credit Union, that gives high school students a glimpse into the realities of adult budgeting and decision-making. Using the Bite of Reality® mobile app, students are assigned a persona for the day complete with a job, income, family, and expenses and must navigate a series of merchant stations to make financial decisions while staying within budget.

Volunteer Role
As a volunteer, you’ll staff one of the merchant stations (e.g., Housing, Transportation, Groceries, Entertainment) and interact with students as they make purchasing decisions. Merchant volunteers will play a pivotal role in creating a realistic and engaging experience for the participants. Beyond simply presenting their products and services, merchant volunteers will be tasked with upselling their offerings. The goal is to encourage participants to make the most expensive purchasing decisions, simulating the pressures they may face as consumers in real-world situations. No prior experience is needed - we’ll provide all the training and materials you need!
