The tote basket that you will create is a rectangular shaped basket with strap handles. The woven strap handles of Shaker tape allow it to be carried easily and tucked under a chair easily also. Weaving includes the basic elements of the Wish Basket, with varied reeds. Simple in design, woven, dyed, and straps applied in one session. Size varies. Supplies needed: cutters, awl, ruler, pencil, snap clothespins, soaking bucket, old towel., old clothes, and patience. Dye is available for this basket and previous baskets if desired. Instructor is Judy Knox who is a retired nurse. She began basket weaving in the late 80's while working in hospice, and sells her baskets at her home in Gloenwood City and around the area. She is a real traditionalist with her styles and techniques.
