SUMMARY:Tainter/Menomin Lake Improvement Assoc.\, Inc. Annual Meeting & Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:The Tainter/Menomin Lake Improvement Association (TMLIA) will be holding its annual meeting on Saturday\, September 22nd at the Fish & Game Club\, N3402 390th Street in Menomonie from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.\n\n	A free lunch will be served at 11 A.M. and the public is invited to attend (a donation jar will be available to help defray expenses and for lake improvement projects).\n\n	\n\n	Patrick Goggin\, a Lake Specialist with the Wisconsin Lakes Partnership and UW-Extension Lakes at UW-Stevens Point\, will be the featured speaker. \n\n	The "Good Neighbor Award" is always a highlight of the annual meeting. This year\, a farm family will be honored. They have been a leader in Dunn County in improving water quality through a local grass-roots pilot project addressing nutrient run-off.\n\n\n	Dragonfly Gardens will have a plant sale in the yard of the Fish & Game Club during the annual meeting. They offer over 300 species of native wildflowers\, grasses\, ferns\, shrubs\, and trees. They specialize in providing plants for rain gardens\, prairie\, forest\, and lake edge restorations. The plants they offer tolerate conditions ranging from the driest\, sunniest prairies\, to shallow aquatic margins of lakes\, ponds and streams\, to the cool\, deep shade beneath a dense forest canopy. The community is invited to come and discover what plants would work best for their specific needs from rain gardens to lakeshore buffers. Take some plants home for fall planting\, or make your plans for spring pickup.\n\n	\n\n	Come to the Fish & Game Club for lunch and for an information-packed opportunity to learn more about our activities to reduce the phosphorus and sediment choking our lakes!
