SUMMARY:Soil Health & Menomonie Community Garden Registration
DESCRIPTION:Soils essential to life\, but have you given much thought to the importance of it lately? The Menomonie Community Garden invites you to talk "Dirt" Saturday\, April 6th 1-3pm located in UW-Stout's Memorial Student Center\, Ballroom A the event is free for all. \n\n	Every spring what shows up on our front door steps to give us the slightest hope of spring? Those big beautiful seed catalogs filled with your wish list of seeds and starters. We get caught up thinking about what to plant\, but forget about a quintessential element\, the SOIL! \n\n	This year the Menomonie Community Garden is focusing on soil amendment and maintenance\, to kick off the season we are honored to have two knowledgeable speakers talk to us about the importance of soil health. Ryan Galbreath from the NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service) will share with us the "Need for Soil Health" and Arthur Kneeland a Biology Lecturer at UW-Stout will talk about "Insect Pest Control through Soil Health". There will be time for questions so come curious and excited\, because although it does not look like spring it is coming and you don't want to be caught off guard. \n\n	Also do not miss the first day to sign up of your Community Garden Plot. The Menomonie Community Garden Committee will be present with Registration Forms and answers to your questions. We will be able to take checks and filled out forms that day. If you are unable to make it to the event registration forms will be available for downloading off our website after April 8th.
