DESCRIPTION:Menomonie High School Jazz Ensemblewith special guests Pete Whitman & Laura CavianiMon\, April 20 at 7:00 p.m.$3 All Ages Saxophone maestro Pete Whitman and jazz pianist Laura Caviani will perform classic jazz standards with the Menomonie High School Jazz Ensemble on Monday\, April 20 at 7:00 pm. The Menomonie High School Jazz Ensemble\, directed by Jacob Karkula\, prides itself in performing quality contemporary stage band music along with standard swing music from the Big Band Era.  Since Karkula took over the high school band director position in 2005\, the band has musically grown and evolved into one of the premier high school jazz ensembles in the Chippewa Valley. The band performs four formal concerts throughout the year and has participated in the UW-Eau Claire Jazz Festival\, UW-Stevens Point Jazz Festival\, Up-North Jazz Festival and several community events throughout the city of Menomonie. Proceeds from the performance will benefit the Menomonie High School music program.
