DESCRIPTION:When the seasons change\, do you find that you have less energy\, feel sad or depressed\, are less enthusiastic\, experience weight changes or need more sleep than usual? You may be one of the many men and women who experience Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).  SAD is a type of depression triggered by a change in season\, typically when fall shifts to winter. Red Cedar Medical Center Mayo Health System is hosting a presentation on SAD called "Let There Be Light   Positive Approaches to Better Manage Seasonal Affective Disorder".Steve Siegle\, Psy.D.\, psychotherapist\, Red Cedar Medical Center\, will teach ways to prevent and treat SAD. As many as half a million people in the United States may have winter-onset depression. It is more common in women than in men and in adults older than 20.
