DESCRIPTION:In the early summer of 2010\, the Tainter/Menomonie Lake Improvement Association commissioned Dr. Russ Kashian\, a professor of Economics and the Director of the Fiscal Economic Research Center (FERC)\, at UW-Whitewater to complete an economic analysis of Lakes Tainter and Menomin on the Dunn County economy. "Specifically we're looking at the economic impact of a lake and the difference between there being a lake or not having a lake there at all" Kashian said.\n\n\n\nPlease join us to see firsthand how the perceived and actual lake degradation has had a significant financial impact on the Menomonie Community. Dr. Kashian has a Phd in Economics\, and is an Associate Professor at UW-Whitewater in the Dept of Economics and the Director of the Fiscal & Economic Research Center (FERC) at UW-Whitewater. This center provides research services for area businesses\, not-for-profit organizations\, and government entities.
