Diane Simon Retires as the Executive Director of the United Way of Dunn County
Dunn County, WI - At the end of the month, Diane Simon will be retiring from her position as the Executive Director of the United Way of Dunn County. She has held the position for 21 years and has been the longest serving director. Since 1965, United Way of Dunn County has been working to advance the common good by focusing on education, financial stability and health.
Under Diane’s leadership, the United Way of Dunn County has worked to provide solutions for issues that our community faces. Diane has provided committed leadership that helped the United Way move from strictly a fundraising organization to an organization that focuses on community impact. She has worked tirelessly to collaborate with community nonprofits in order to meet the needs of the community.
When asked to reflect upon her experience as the executive director Diane explained, “I have been very fortunate to have worked with the wonderful nonprofits in Dunn County willing to collaborate to get something accomplished. I will miss the interactions I have had with all the people I have worked with over the years, both in the corporate and nonprofit sectors of Dunn County. I truly believe we are very fortunate to be living in an area where community support from the corporate sector thrives.”
Angela Yudes, president of the board of directors for the United Way of Dunn County, said, “Diane’s commitment and passion for the United Way matches no other! She has helped more people and touched more hearts than even she may realize, and for that, we thank her!” Diane will be missed in her role but she plans to spend time volunteering in the areas she has been dedicated to in the past as well as some new areas.
The Board of Directors for the United Way of Dunn County would like to invite community members, family, and friends to help celebrate Diane’s retirement at a special reception to be held at the Stout Ale House, June 22 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
