Menomonie, WI - Rehabilitation for Wisconsin in Action (RFW) and Reach, Inc. would like to acknowledge the Stout Ale House in Menomonie, WI as Employer of the Year for recognizing the value that people with disabilities bring to the workplace and for promoting their independence through meaningful employment.
The owner of the Stout Ale House was contacted regarding developing a job in which someone could greet and seat customers. After some discussion it was decided that Olivia would interview with Dan Dicks, the Assistant Manager, and they would develop some job duties. Dan has said he feels a Manager should have a lot of compassion and be as interested in the staff as they are in the customers. He told Olivia he was impressed with her interview and work ethic. He makes a point to talk with Olivia every time she works, as he feels having a lot of dialog with people is important. He is an outstanding employer that goes above and beyond to treat all of his staff members equally. He is also very personable with the Reach Job Coaches who assist Olivia during her shift. Olivia said her highlight of each week is working at the Stout Ale House. Customers of the Stout Ale House have commented that they appreciate the restaurant for integrating people with all abilities in their work force, even those with severe limitations. We applaud the Stout Ale House owner, management, and staff for having the enthusiasm and determination to treat all people equally and to realize there is value in everyone. We would also like to recognize and thank Stout Ale House Owner, Dave Burg, and General Manager, Jay Ouellette, for their continued support.
