Jun 12    2026 Ribbon Cutting - The Cobble & Vine

Cobble & Vine to Celebrate Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening in Menomonie

Menomonie, WI - Nick & Alisha Arvold and their partner Marilyn Fanetti owners of Cobble & Vine, invite the community to join them as they officially open their new wedding and event venue with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 12 at 2:00 PM.

Cobble & Vine is the result of a shared vision years in the making. After over a decade in the wedding industry, Nick and Alisha took a leap to create a space centered around connection, experience, and bringing people together. What was once an idea has now become a place designed to host weddings, gatherings, and meaningful moments for the Chippewa Valley community and beyond.

“We are rebuilding this space with intention,” said Nick. “Not just for weddings, but for the moments in between, the time people spend together that they’ll remember long after the day is over.”

The ribbon cutting on June 12 will mark the official opening, but the celebration will continue with a Grand Opening event on June 13 from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, open to the public.

The grand opening will feature:

  • Full bar service
  • Food truck by Big Guy’s BBQ
  • Helicopter rides over the property
  • Live violinist performance
  • A permanent jewelry artist
  • DJ-led after party beginning at 8:00 PM

Guests are invited to explore the venue, experience the space, and be part of the beginning of what Nick and Alisha are building.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve already received,” said Alisha. “This weekend is really about opening our doors and sharing it with the community.”

Cobble & Vine is located just outside Menomonie and is now booking weddings and events for 2027 and 2028.

Jun 18    2026 Eggs & Issues - Childcare as an Economic Infrastructure
**Rescheduled - still time to register**

Childcare as an Economic Infrastructure

Reliable childcare is a workforce and economic development issue that directly affects a business’s ability to hire and retain employees. This session brings together topic experts from UW-Extension, local childcare providers, program facilitators, and statewide childcare association leaders to examine childcare as essential economic infrastructure, using Dunn County data and real-world examples to illustrate its impact. Moving beyond problem awareness, the conversation will focus on practical, employer-driven solutions and new financial incentives available through Wisconsin Act 78. Designed for decision-makers, this session delivers actionable strategies and a clear return-on-investment perspective for businesses of all sizes.

Learning objectives
By attending, participants will:
  • Understand how childcare availability impacts workforce retention and recruitment in Dunn County, supported by local CAT Survey data presented by UW-Extension.
  • Learn why childcare should be viewed as essential economic infrastructure, alongside housing and transportation.
  • Hear real-world examples from childcare providers and program facilitators on what is working locally and across Wisconsin.
  • Explore successful employer-supported childcare models and partnerships shared by childcare association experts.
  • Identify meaningful ways businesses can engage in childcare solutions beyond traditional donations.
  • Gain an overview of Wisconsin Act 78 and the tax credit opportunities available for employer investment in childcare.
  • Discover practical, scalable first steps for small and mid-sized employers who want to support childcare without building on-site centers.

Jun 24 - Jun 28    Murals in Menomonie

Murals in Menomonie: A Week of Artistry, Community, and Stories

Get ready to watch your town transform! Murals in Menomonie is a five-day celebration that brings world-class muralists to downtown where they will paint 14+ large-scale works of art that tell the vibrant story of our community.

This isn't just paint on walls, it's Menomonie's history coming to life. From the quirky innovations our town pioneered to the lumber industry that shaped our landscape, each mural captures a unique piece of who we are. And the best part? These stunning works will be free and accessible to everyone.

What Makes It Special

The Walldogs, an international collective of talented artists and muralists, select one town each year to transform through public art. Our community is hosting this incredible event through a collaborative effort led by the City of Menomonie, Downtown Menomonie, the Community Foundation of Dunn County, UW–Stout, and our partner organizations.

More Than Just Painting

Watch artists create in real-time, enjoy live music, explore artisan and farmers markets, bring the kids to special activities, and finish the weekend with a fundraising banquet.

Perfect for Visitors

Whether you pop in for a day or make it a weekend getaway, there's plenty to do between mural stops. Grab lunch at a local favorite, shop downtown, and experience Menomonie's unique character.

Jun 27    Murals in Menomonie Gala

Step inside the story of Murals in Menomonie and help shape the future of public art in our community.

Join us Saturday, June 27th, for an evening filled with art, stories, and celebration as we close out an unforgettable week of murals, creativity, and community connection in Menomonie. Guests will enjoy light refreshments, a cash bar, and the unique opportunity to meet several of the mural artists whose work will leave a permanent mark on our community.

The highlight of the evening will be a live auction featuring exclusive replica pieces created by each participating artist. These one-of-a-kind works give attendees the rare opportunity to own a piece of the event while directly supporting the future of public art in Menomonie.

Every bid helps protect and preserve the murals through the Murals in Menomonie Endowment Fund and supports the Walldogs artists and organization that help bring these large-scale community art projects to life across the country.

This is more than a fundraiser. It is a chance to celebrate what happens when art, history, tourism, and community pride come together. Whether you attended the mural painting throughout the week or simply want to experience the excitement and energy surrounding the event, the Gala offers a memorable evening unlike anything else happening in the region.

Come celebrate the walls, the artists, and the stories that will inspire visitors and residents for years to come.

Aug 15    Sadistic Century
The Sadistic Century is a fun and challenging road bicycle ride on hilly, smooth, quiet roads in Western Wisconsin.
Routes include 100 mile, 100 km, 60 km and 50 km lengths with three distinct rest stops mainly in Dunn County, Wisconsin (a short drive from Madison or the Twin Cities Area).

The Sadistic Century returns with renewed energy and purpose. Known for its grueling elevation gains, scenic rural routes, and fiercely loyal following, the event challenges cyclists to push their physical and mental limits, all while raising funds for a critical community cause. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the event will directly support Stepping Stones of Menomonie, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing homelessness and food insecurity in the Menomonie community. Through emergency shelter, transitional housing, and a food pantry serving hundreds of families each month, Stepping Stones provides essential services to neighbors in need.
The Sadistic Century is expected to attract road cyclists and endurance athletes from across the region, including triathletes seeking a premier late-season training ride. Multiple route options will be available to accommodate varying ability levels, though the full Century remains true to its reputation as one of the most demanding single-day rides in the area. Event details, registration information, sponsorship opportunities, and volunteer sign-ups at www.sadisticcentury.com.

T-shirts are included in registration up until Aug 1. We serve a great meal with refreshments after the ride.
